ROHS Policy

MDC prides itself in conforming to the highest ethical standards in the conduct of its business and its relationships with both customers and suppliers. MDC is committed to ongoing compliance with environmental legislation and manages an extensive program to eliminate potentially harmful materials in its products while ensuring the highest product quality and reliability.

The latest directive 2011/65/EU on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS) was issued June, 2011. The RoHS directive restricts the use of the following, with no more than the maximum concentration value by weight in homogenous substances on products sold into European markets:

Lead 0.1%
Mercury 0.1%
Cadmium 0.01%
Hexavalent Chromium 0.1%
Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) 0.1%
Polybrominated Diphenyl (PBDE) 0.1%

Most of MDC's products are stainless steel vacuum components and fittings which meet the RoHS requirements. Also, all new products are reviewed for compliance before they are released. Product compliance can be determined by contacting your sales representative.

In addition:

MDC will only use alternatives that do not compromise product hazardous material requirements.

MDC has been working with our supply chain partners to ensure every aspect of our business accommodates these existing/future hazardous material requirements.

MDC always relies on the data from the supplier/manufacturer. RoHS information gathered from our suppliers is reviewed and passed on to our customer's; we are not responsible for missing information. Therefore we will assume no liability for financial losses (indemnity, loss of profit) or civil penalties caused by official ruling.

When products are made to customer requirements, MDC is only responsible for the purchase of components and materials used for the manufacture of that product. MDC is not responsible for ensuring the end product placed on the market is compliant to the environmental requirements.
